Trailblazers' Hall ready for national golf tournament

VINCENNES, Ind. – Zach Hall will represent Vincennes University in the 2019 NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship tournament, a year after earning All-American honors and helping the Trailblazers win the Division III team national title.

Hall is ready to tee it up at Swan Lake Golf Resorts in Plymouth, Indiana. The tourney begins May 21 and runs through May 24.

VU made the move from Division III to Division II this season.

“I knew I could make it out (of the regional) as an individual, but it was a nice little surprise because I didn’t expect it,” Hall said. “I’m glad my last year that I can experience this one more time. Even as an individual.”

Swan Lake is new to him. The sophomore from Linton, Indiana heads into the tournament with two practice rounds under his belt.

“I feel like I can really score on this because it’s not a super long course,” he said. “It is a little tight, but as long as you can find the fairways and you can hit the greens, the greens are rolling really smooth and very quick. I feel very confident on this course. I feel ready to play.”

At the 2018 Division III national tournament in New York, Hall placed 12th.

“It helped last year to have teammates with me,” he said. “Not only to have that extra support, but to also compare rounds and give each other information. It’s a little bit different not having one here other than having Jake (English), and he’s spectating. But being there last year really helped me to know what to expect.”
