VU Coach Gary Sien says. . .

Competing against JV team’s poses a unique set of problems when it comes to scouting. Sien said, “They’re hard to coach against because we didn’t really know anything about them. Sometimes they won’t have their roster finalized until a day or two before (the match). It can be tricky, like we’re just going up against the great unknown.” Sien added that he like the fight his team showed tonight after finishing set 1 on a 10 – 1 run, and after battling back from an early deficit in set 3. With the Blazer Classic coming up this weekend Sien said, “It’s nice to get a good win going into a tough tournament this weekend. To play John A Logan in the first match on Friday, who are the defending Region 24 champions, and beat us in the Region championship last October. We brought back most of our players from last year and so did they, so it’s going to be a tough one.”

Notes

  • The win puts the Trailblazers season record at 4-5.
  • Vincennes also remains perfect at home early in this season at 2-0 and extends VU’s home winning streak to 12.
