VINCENNES, Ind. - Longtime VU faculty member Ty Freed has accepted the position of Dean of the College of Technology, according to an announcement by Laurel Smith, Vincennes University’s interim Provost and Vice President of Instructional Services.
Freed has served as interim dean since January 2017. He also chairs the Automotive Technology and Collision Repair programs and has been a VU faculty member for 17 years.
“Ty is already a valued member of the University community, and I am confident he will continue to be an engaged collaborator and strong leader for VU,” said Smith.
“I’m excited about what the future holds for the College of Technology,” said Freed. “The dedicated faculty and staff make it a great place to work and learn. I look forward to working with faculty, staff, and students while helping Vincennes University continue a tradition of quality education.”
Freed graduated from North Daviess High School and is a VU Automotive Technology graduate. In addition, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology and a master’s degree in Industrial Technology from Indiana State University.
