Red Skelton Funny Film Series

June 8, 2017 / Red Skelton Funny Film Series

VINCENNES, Ind. - The 2017 Red Skelton Funny Film Series concludes with the film “The Sunshine Boys” on June 20, 7 p.m. (EDT), at the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy.  The museum is adjacent to the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, 20 Red Skelton Blvd., on the Vincennes University campus.  Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

A different film is offered once a month, on Tuesdays, which is the same night the Red Skelton Show aired.

“The Sunshine Boys” (1975) features Hollywood legends Walter Matthau and George Burns.  Al Lewis (Burns) and Willy Clark (Matthau) are a pair of feuding vaudeville comedians (Lewis and Clark, naturally) who performed together for 47 years before finally calling it quits. A network genius then has the brilliant idea of reuniting the duo for a TV special about the history of comedy. Once the reunion is on, the sparks and one-liners fly with equal speed. Can Lewis and Clark put aside their differences long enough to collect one last paycheck?
