JASPER, Ind. – Vincennes University Jasper is offering Certified
Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) training
programs for Fall Semester 2019.
The CNA 105-hour noncredit program includes 30 classroom hours and 75
clinical hours. The curriculum provided at VU Jasper meets all
required guidelines for nursing assistant training established by the
federal government and state of Indiana. Upon completion of the
course, each student is eligible to sit for the Indiana State CNA
Classes are Sept. 23-26, 5:30-9:30 p.m.; Sept. 28, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.;
and Sept. 30-Oct.3, 5:30-9:30 p.m.
Clinicals begin upon completion of classroom instruction. Total
program length is eight weeks.
The fee is $1,195 and includes all textbooks, materials, and state
testing fees. Students are responsible for the cost of the Indiana
State Police criminal background check, physical exam, TB testing, and

p.m. in The Center for Technology, Innovation and Manufacturing (CTIM)
located on the VU Jasper campus.

Class dates for the QMA training program are Mondays and Tuesdays,
Oct. 14-Dec. 17, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
The cost is $895, and includes all books and materials.
A qualified medication aide is a certified nurse aide (CNA) who has
completed additional training, annual in-service training, and
demonstrated competency while dispensing and passing medications and
or applying/administering treatments under the direct supervision of a
registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The QMA training program
consists of 100 hours, including 60 hours classroom instruction and 40
hours of supervised practicum. The VU Jasper QMA program is approved
by the Indiana State Department of Health.
All applicants must attend a required orientation. At this meeting,
attendees will learn program requirements, clinical requirements,
student rules and policies, receive required forms, and take basic
reading and math tests.

The Jasper Campus fulfills the vision of a Dubois County citizens
group, founded in 1958, that was dedicated to improving area education
and cultural enrichment. Vincennes University joined as a strong

Pike, Orange, Lawrence and other counties in Indiana.
