 Student Email Guidelines


E-mail is an official means of communication between the university and you. The university will use the preferred email address that you establish and maintain within MyVU.

Preferred Email Address

Vincennes University will send all email communications to the personal email address that you designate and confirm as your preferred email address. It is extremely important that your preferred email address is on file, up to date and working.

To verify and update your email address:

1. Log in to your MyVU account.

2. Click on the ‘Verify Preferred Email Address’ link in the My Access area.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to find your preferred email address on record.

4. To update this address, click on the ‘Update E-mail Addresses’ link and click email address, enter the new address and click Submit & Confirm.



It is your responsibility to ensure your preferred email address within MyVU is always accurate and working. To verify, you should expect to receive at least one message from the university at the beginning of each semester.

Assurance of Delivery

You must allow university mail from specific email addresses to safely come into your inbox without it being placed in your junk or spam folder by whitelisting email addresses within your email client or Internet security software and adding email addresses to a safe senders list. Each email service has different steps in order to do this. This is the list of the Vincennes University Domain Names you would need to add to the whitelist or add to safe senders *
