The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides up to 36 months of educational benefits toward a Vincennes University degree or certificate program for individuals who served at least 90 agregte days on active duty on or after September 10, 2001, or were honarabley discharged from active duty for a sevice-connected disability after serving 30 continuous days following Setember 10, 2001. Benefits are available to you for 15 years after ending active duty. Under this program, you are entitled to funds based on the length of time you were active duty. Dependents may also use Chapter 33 benefits transferred to them by their sponsor.
Explanation of Benefits:
You may recieve a percentage of the following payemtns (see chart below):
- A tuition and Fee payment that is paid directly to Vincennes University on your behalf.
- A monthy Housing Allowance (MHA) that is equal to the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) payable for the zip code of your school to a military E-5 with dependents
- A Books and Supplies Stipend of up to $1,000 per year

Transfer of Entiltment Option
The transferability option under the Post-9/11 GI Bill® allows Servicemenbers to transfer all or some unused benefits to their spouse or dependent children. The Department of Defense (DoD) determines whether or not you can transfer benefits to your family. Once the DoD approves benefits for transfer, the new beneficiaries apply for them at the VA. Yellow Ribbon Program
The Yellow Ribbon program under the Post 9/11 GI Bill® provides additional financial assistance to nonresident students whose costs are not fully covered by the Post 9/11 GI Bill®.
