Advanced CNC Machining & Programming
Available only on the Vincennes campus
Advanced CNC Machining & Programming Technology is a 14 week, summer session course of study, that graduates of VU’s Precision Machining Technology program may apply for acceptance into. The Advanced CNC Machining & Programming degree provides students with 512 additional contact hours of CAD/CAM programming and CNC machining.
What You Will Study
Instruction is provided in Vincennes University's state-of-the-art College of Technology, located on the Vincennes main campus. The facility houses VU's Hurco Training Center (HTC), and features the latest CNC machine tool technologies, via our corporate alliance with Hurco Companies of Indianapolis, IN.
Students program, machine, and inspect complex 2, 3, 4, and 5-axis projects in our CAD/CAM lab, using the latest version of Mastercam. Projects are designed to make use of the latest in high speed machining, in collaboration with companies specializing in die making, mold making, aerospace, medical, and the motorsports industry.
Students visit manufacturers and take part in seminars presented by our industrial partners.
Placement and Salaries
Starting salaries for our Advanced CNC Machining & Programming graduates average in the fifty thousand dollar range with some far exceeding this. Placement opportunities are excellent, with virtually 100 percent placement.
