The Vincennes University Primary Care Center (UPCC) is designed to help our students, faculty and staff stay healthy on campus.

Full time students on the Vincennes campus may be seen at the Vincennes University Primary Care Center (UPCC)-Student Health Office located in the Young Building on campus. The UPCC nurses are available for assessment of acute illnesses and injuries.

Privacy Protection

The UPCC enforces all HIPAA regulations which protect the privacy of an individual's health information. Your medical information is secure and only accessible by the UPCC provider.

In order to minimize wait times, appointments are required. Call 812-888-7777 to schedule an appointment. Every effort will be made to ensure patients are seen as soon as possible.

Deborah Bedwell

Deborah Bedwell, a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, is the University Primary Care Center Clinic Director and has been with the UPCC since February 2018. Deborah is a native of Knox County and earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from Vincennes University, Bachelor of Science from Indiana State University and Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Indiana Wesleyan University. She brings many years of experience in both occupational nursing and community health nursing. Deborah has several years experience in Primary Care and Quick Care practice.

Melissa Overton

Melissa Overton is a certified Physician Assistant. Melissa is also a Knox County native and an alumnus of Vincennes University. She earned her Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Vincennes University and Bachelor of Science from Indiana University Purdue University. Melissa's Physician Assistant degree is from Butler University. She brings a wealth of experience as a Physician Assistant having practiced several years, first in Orthopedics, followed by over eight years' experience in Family Practice, and most recently, three years in Cardiology. She has also taught as adjunct faculty for Vincennes University.
