MEDIA ADVISORY: Right of Way Industry Student Workshop

WHAT: High school students will explore surveying and other right of way professions, including appraisers, acquisition agents, relocation agents, real estate attorneys, right of way technicians, right of way managers, and government agency employees through the workshop. Students will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience by preparing a parcel plat and land description, determining a property value, and preparing an offer letter for a property. The workshop offer reporters, photographers, and news crews numerous opportunities to obtain engaging activity stories, photographs, and videos.

 The Right of Way industry is among the most in-demand industries in the nation and offers well-paying careers. Demand is fueling companies’ needs to hire more people in Indiana and throughout the United States for current and future workloads.

VU is one of only a few higher education institutions in the United States that offers a degree in Surveying Technology. VU also offers a bachelor’s degree in Surveying Management.
