Vincennes University recognized five faculty and staff members from across the University as recipients of 2026 Peer Recognition Awards during a reception on Monday, Oct. 19, in Governor’s Hall.

Workforce U at Vincennes University announced on Thursday, Oct. 15, a partnership with LIFT, the Department of Defense-funded national manufacturing innovation institute, to deploy Operation Next across Indiana. Operation Next is an accelerated development program designed to bridge critical technical skill shortages in advanced manufacturing by training transitioning active-duty service members, National Guard, Reservists, veterans, and their dependents.

The Vincennes University Jasper Foundation Scholastic Excellence Award will continue supporting local high school graduates with higher education opportunities thanks to a nearly $38,000 contribution from the Jasper Strassenfest on Sept. 29.

Vincennes University expanded its commitment to statewide and national workforce development at its Board of Trustees Annual Meeting on Oct. 5, with the launch of Workforce U. Formerly known as the Business and Industry division, Workforce U delivers customized training programs for industry leaders such as Amazon and Walmart, and is also backed by $17.5 million in approved project bids for the renovation of Godare Hall, which will be turned into a premium, all-private-room facility that provides a turnkey solution for employers.

Vincennes University's WVUT-TV has earned national recognition as one of the nation’s top public media outlets in the 58th annual Public Media Awards, presented by the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA).
