Vincennes University's Associate Degree in FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES will provide the first two years of study toward your bachelor's degree. This degree is offered fully on-line through Distance Education and on the Vincennes main campus.
WHAT IS IT?
The field of Family and Consumer Sciences is concerned with improving the lives of individuals and families and includes such diverse areas as:
- Food, Nutrition, and Wellness
- Interior Design and Housing
- Family Relations and Human Development
- Textiles, Clothing and Fashion
- Family Economics and Resource Management
MORE JOBS THAN QUALIFIED APPLICANTS
A study conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture indicates that throughout the beginning of the 21st century, there will be an abundance of well-paying jobs open to family and consumer science majors. The study predicts that there will be over 4,000 more jobs than trained persons to fill them.
