Professor Alsman views the online classroom as an interactive and collaborative experience between faculty and students. Courses are designed to promote critical thinking, and the use of best evidence-based practice.   Students are given opportunities to explore and reflect on personal and professional experiences that foster personal growth, professional growth, and community outreach.

Work experience includes: Being a staff nurse/charge nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, being the education manager/nursing supervisor at Daviess Community Hospital, and teaching at Vincennes University since 2007.
