  • Bachelor of Arts in English - Oakland City University
  • Master of Arts in English - Minnesota State University, Mankato

During a "normal" semester at VU, I may be teaching English Composition 079, 101, or 102, as well as ENGL 249 Linguistics or LITR 220 or 221 (World Literature 1 and 2) either face-to-face or online.  Through the years, my students have been sitting in the classroom in Shircliff or serving in the Navy in a submarine in the Persian Sea.  Both of my sons attended VU and essentially grew up on the campus.

In addition to classroom responsibilities, I coordinate the annual Best of Autumn Voices publication and performances by National Players.  In the rare spare time that I have when not grading, I enjoy weaving on my floor loom or spinning yarn on my spinning wheel or camping with my husband and two dogs (although when camping, I am usually grading anyway).  I also help out at the Rosenvolk German Medieval Festival (the only German "Renaissance" fair in the country) in nearby Ferdinand.

Closer to home, I volunteer for activities at nearby Lyles Station and serve as a Board Member for the Lyles Station Historic Preservation Corporation and am actively involved in the Order of Eastern Star.
