September 6, 2019 / Vincennes University hosting Law Enforcement and Conservation Law Enforcement Alumni Reunion
VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University Law Enforcement and Conservation Law Enforcement programs in collaboration with the VU Alumni Association are hosting an alumni reunion on Sept. 27-28 as part of Parent, Family and Alumni Weekend.
The Law Enforcement and Conservation Law Enforcement programs are longstanding with a rich history on the VU campus. The Law Enforcement Program is celebrating its 50th year and the Conservation Law Enforcement Program is not far behind. Alumni, current students, current and past faculty are invited to gather and celebrate those who have walked the halls and paved the way for the success of these programs.
The reunion will include a BBQ and bonfire at Kimmell Park on Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour later at Vincennes Brewing Company.
Earlier in the day, ATF agent and VU alumnus James Soper is the guest speaker during a presentation from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. Soper will share his expertise about what to do in the case of active shooter and will present the Avoid Deny Defend program. This event is free and open to the public. Law enforcement officers in Indiana can receive continuing education hours for attendance.
Activities on Sept. 28 kick off at Kimmell Park with the annual Tube Race down the Wabash River at 10 a.m. The Parent, Family and Alumni Picnic begins at noon at Kimmell Park.
The reunion wraps up with a Law Enforcement and Conservation Law Enforcement banquet at Green Activities Center at 6 p.m. with distinguished alumni being honored during the evening.
