  • B.A. Biblical and Theological Studies, Moody Bible Institute (Chicago, IL) 1993
  • M.A. English, University of Northern Colorado (Greeley, CO) 2003

Since 2015, I've been an Assistant Professor of English at Vincennes University, where I teach developmental reading/writing, English composition, humanities, ethics, world literature, and the Bible as literature. My research interests are in writing studies, rhetorical theory, and the rhetoric of religion.

Previous to my academic career, I was a Chaplain's Assistant in the U.S. Army Reserve, a professional roofer, a sous chef in a Chinese restaurant, and a minister with the American Baptist Church.

I have been teaching English for over twenty years, working with students from around the world. I started teaching Developmental Reading/Writing and College Composition at Aims Community College and the University of Northern Colorado. I then spent twelve years overseas teaching Applied Linguistics, Rhetorical Theory, Research, and Writing Studies at King Mongkut's University of Technology, Thonburi (Thailand) and at the American University of Cairo (Egypt).
