I bring to the classroom twenty years of teaching experience in literacy and language education. During my career, I have worked with students from a variety of educational backgrounds, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners (ELL).

I believe that reading and writing are intimately connected. Students cannot improve in one area without the other. As a teacher of composition, my primary goal is to provide students with the experience and confidence to use the reading, writing, and critical thinking tools learned in class to empower themselves to communicate clearly and defend their beliefs. I hope to help students become better college students, employees, and community members.
