While at Melon Acres, I was a member of the team that built and established the first high tunnels for production use in Knox County.

Melanie Ellis is the Agribusiness & Horticulture Coordinator at Vincennes University. She started her educational career with the University in Fall of 2023. Mrs. Ellis brings a variety of experiences to the Agricultural Center, where the majority of her time is spent.

She has been involved with the produce industry for over 11 years, primarily as a High Tunnel Manager on a melon farm in northern Knox County. She also had her own lawn and landscape company for two years, and was a Garden Center manager at a local landscaping firm.

Mrs. Ellis is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticultural Production and Marketing with a minor in Food and Agribusiness Management.
