Teaching Philosophy/Approach:

It is an honor to teach future educators. I enjoy getting to know about my students on a personal level and working with them on their journedy to become teachers.

Personal Interests:

Outside of work, I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I enjoy cooking, reading, sewing, traveling and walking. I volunteer at my church teaching preschool children, act as the Exceptionality liaison, and am on the Adult Formation team.

Why Vincennes University?

I love teaching at Vincennes University because we provide high quality teachers to our surrounding schools and partner school corporations. Faculty and Staff are collaborative and collegial and strive to see our students be successful.

I am in my 15th year teaching at Vincennes University. I have been the Department Chair of Education for eight years. Prior to coming to the University, I worked for many years as a special educator in Vincennes, Evansville, and Indianapolis. I have been fortunate to work with people with Exceptionalities from the Pre-School age to adults in the areas of Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities. Our Program at VU has recently incorporated the curriculum to include Science of Reading Methodologies as well as Computer Science.
