Professor Alsman views the online classroom as an interactive and collaborative experience between faculty and students. Courses are designed to promote critical thinking, and the use of best evidence-based practice. Students are given opportunities to explore and reflect on personal and professional experiences that foster personal growth, professional growth, and community outreach.
Work experience includes: 13 years of experience as a staff nurse/charge nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital, 12 years of experience as the education manager/nursing supervisor at Daviess Community Hospital, 10 years teaching experience at Vincennes University. Professor Alsman finds that the best part of being a nurse is being called to serve others as well as being able to utilize best practice to promote optimal patient outcomes.
