English Adjunct (ASL & Deaf Studies) – Indianapolis, IN

Part-Time

The Vincennes University American Sign Language & Deaf Studies Program located on the campus of the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking an Adjunct to teach English Composition courses starting Fall Semester 2019.

 

The position is responsible for:

  • Teaching 3 semester hours of English

  • Participating in planning and assessing student and course success

  • Complying with all record keeping requirements

  • Other appropriate duties as assigned

 

Successful candidates will have:

  • A Master’s degree in English or at least 18 graduate hours in the content area.

  • Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and communication skills. American Sign Language fluency is preferable but not required.

  • An ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels

  • An ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and administrators

Information Technology Adjunct Faculty – Indianapolis, IN

The IT Department is made up of a team of dedicated faculty that enjoy integrating their extensive professional industry experience into quality curriculum. The IT Department is committed to staying on track with the ever-changing landscape of Information Technology. Seeking Adjunct instructors to join our IT Department and teach undergraduate course(s) in Homeland Security - Cyber and Information Technology Concentration Bachelor of Science-7001 B.S.  Course(s) to be taught in the Indianapolis, IN area, starting Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.

CNET 155 - Basic Cyber Crime and Computer Forensics:

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to specific crimes and investigation techniques within the discipline of digital and cyber forensics. Students will use existing federal, state, and case laws to determine best approaches to processing cybercrimes. Students will complete labs that focus on processing evidence involved in digital and cybercrimes (e.g., workstations, laptops, servers, storage media, smart-phones and smart-devices). Exclusive EC-Council CHFI™ Curriculum is used throughout this course. 3 lecture/laboratory hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited institution with a Masters Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or Information Technology related field with five or more years work experience in the Information Technology field.

Additional Qualifications:  Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator CHFI™ certified or related Cyber Security certifications.

COMP 310 - Managing Information Technology:
This course is designed as an introduction to the financial, technical, and strategic information systems planning process. Emphasis is on the relationship of the information systems planning process to overall business goals, policies, plans, management style, and industry conditions. The selection of large systems projects, assessment of a currently installed system, determining approaches to staffing, software, hardware, processing, and financing an information system are studied. Curriculum from PMI® is integrated throughout the course as students work within the PMBOK® methodologies. 3 lecture/laboratory hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited institution with a Masters Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology related field with five or more years work experience in the Information Technology field.


Additional Qualifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)® or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certified.

  Information Technology (Computer Programming) Adjunct Faculty – Jasper, IN

Part-time

Vincennes University's Information Technology Department is seeking applicants to fill the position of Adjunct Faculty in Information Technology and Computer Programming. The part-time position is available beginning in the Fall 2018 semester.

This position is responsible for:

  • Work under the direction of the Business and Public Service Department Chair of the Technology Department

  • Prepare and teach undergraduate courses in Computer Programming and Information Technology – day and night courses offered

Adjunct Instructors in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Social Work, and History.

Part time:

Vincennes University Jasper is seeking to compile a pool of applicants to teach part-time in the College of Social Science, Performing Arts, and Communication.  Potential teaching opportunities will be likely in psychology, sociology, communications, social work, and history.   Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in teaching discipline.  All teaching assignments require travel to Jasper one time per week to instruct assigned class for approximately three hours.

Teaching opportunities are dependent on the needs of the University.  Qualified applicants will be contacted as teaching opportunities become available.

Early College Adjunct (Various Subjects) – Lawrenceburg, IN

Vincennes University is seeking applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor at Lawrenceburg High School in Lawrenceburg, IN.   Subjects include Spanish; French; Literature; Journalism; Speech and Composition.

The Early College Program at Lawrenceburg High School has openings for adjunct faculty to teach dual credit courses as part of an adjunct faculty pool. This is a non-tenure track faculty position, reporting primarily to the Assistant Dean of Early College Programs for Vincennes University in Lawrenceburg, IN.  Adjunct contracts are subject to sufficient student enrollment. Preference will be given to applicants experienced in teaching at both the high school and college level.

This position is responsible for:

• Teaching undergraduate/dual credit courses and associated labs.

• Participate in the development and implementation of assessment, including learning outcomes at the course, program, college, and university level.
