Vincennes University teams finished first and second in the 25th Annual Cargill Literacy Quiz Bowl. From left, Judith Kratzner, literacy coordinator for the Knox County Public Library, presents a first-place plaque to Ren Simmons, captain of the John Rogers Team, and a runner-up plaque to Jane Minderman, captain of the Humanities Humdingers Team, sponsored by the College of Humanities. The Feb. 25 contest marked the first year that VU teams swept the top two places. Members of the John Rogers Team included Simmons, Jim Pearson, Chad Beaman, and James Simmons. The team was named in honor of the late John Rogers, professor of English Emeritus, who was a longtime member of the PDK Team. Members of the Humanities Humdingers Team included Minderman, Bernie Schmitt, Matt Groneman, and Emily Loehle.
