November 30, 2017 / Red Skelton Museum Gift of Giving exhibition opens Dec. 5
VINCENNES, Ind. - The Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy will host its inaugural Gift of Giving exhibition, featuring items donated to the Museum from the collection of Isaac “Ike” Murphy of Vincennes. The exhibition opens Dec. 5 and will run through Feb. 4, 2018.
The Museum is located adjacent to Vincennes University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, 20 Red Skelton Blvd.
Murphy is one of many Museum supporters who have donated items to the collection. Future Gift of Giving exhibitions will feature the gifts from additional donors.
The Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy serves as a repository for an extensive collection of Red Skelton memorabilia. A permanent display tells the main Red Skelton story and Mark Kratzner, curator, has incorporated a series of short-term displays to offer a more in-depth look at “America’s Clown,” such as Red’s love of clowns and his relationships with U.S. Presidents.
