Broadcasting Program Chair/Assistant Professor – Vincennes, IN Full-Time

 

Vincennes University Broadcasting department seeks an experienced broadcaster to join its Broadcasting Program in the role of Broadcasting Program Chair at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher at its main campus in Vincennes, Indiana. This is a 9-month position

 

This position is responsible for

 

  • Teaching courses in radio production, broadcast journalism, digital media, and related areas

  • Designing and revising curriculum

  • Marketing, recruiting, and retention for the Broadcasting program

  • Scheduling courses

  • Recruiting, hiring and overseeing adjunct faculty

  • Organizing and overseeing the Program Advisory Committee

  • Academic advising

  • Organizing assessment projects within the program and compiling reports

  • Serving as faculty liaison for the Broadcasting program to Dual-Credit instructors on the secondary education level; some travel required

  • Serving on college committees

The successful candidate has:

 

  • Experience in the fields of radio broadcasting and broadcast journalism

  • Master’s Degree or 18 graduate hours in Broadcasting or related field, required

  • Prior experience as a program chair within an academic setting

  • Prior experience in curriculum development

  • Prior experience organizing and leading an academic program advisory committee

  • Prior teaching experience on the undergraduate level

  • Prior experience overseeing a radio station

  • Prior experience in audio and video production using Adobe Creative Suite or similar software

  • Prior experience working with television news production

Product Design and Production Processes Faculty – Vincennes, IN  Full-time 

The College of Technology at Vincennes University is seeking applicants for Product Design and Production Processes Faculty. This is a full-time, nine month, non-tenure track position. This position reports to the Product Design Coordinator and Dean of Technology.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Work collaboratively with the Manufacturing Department on the Vincennes campus

  • Teach Manual and Computer Aided Drafting, Additive Manufacturing, Reverse Engineering and other related classes

  • Assist students with labs and assignments both during class and outside of class as needed

  • Assess and record student progress through testing and lab work

     

  • Teach Product Design and Production Processes classes including the following:

    • Descriptive Geometry

    • Manual Drafting

    • Computer Aided Drafting using PTC Creo and AutoCAD

    • Tool Design Principals

    • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

    • Additive Manufacturing

    • Reverse Engineering

    • Other related Product Design courses

  • Maintain lab equipment for student use

  • Prepare and deliver hands-on drafting and design labs for students

  • Assess student progress through testing and lab work

  • Turn in data for assessment to program coordinator

  • Submit grades as required by the University Manual

  • Develop and maintain relationships with High School faculty to facilitate recruiting

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Industry to facilitate education and job placement

  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate has:

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Product Design and Production Processes or equivalent Drafting/Design program. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of verifiable industry experience in the drafting and design field
  • Experience and proven proficiency with PTC Creo and AutoCAD
  • Experience and solid working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard
  • A working knowledge of 3-D printing and 3-D scanning equipment and processes
  • Teaching experience is preferred

Assistant Professor of Physics – Vincennes, IN

Full-Time

 

The Engineering Department, in the College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics at Vincennes University, anticipates a faculty opening at the Assistant Professor rank, Fall 2019. The Department is seeking applicants to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level, including algebra based physics, calculus based physics, and technical physics. Additionally, an opportunity to teach some engineering and/or mathematics may exist. This is a full time, nine-month non-tenure track faculty position with the potential of tenure track, reporting to the Chair of the Engineering Department.

 

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Teach undergraduate, developmental, and technical courses in physics, engineering, and mathematics.

  • Serve as an academic advisor, and participate in related student success activities.

  • Participate in recruitment and retention initiatives and activities.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessment, including learning outcomes, at the course, program, college, and university levels.

  • Participate in research and service, including serving on departmental, college, and university committees.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate has:

 

  • Candidates should have the interest and expertise to teach a variety of physics courses (ranging from developmental and technical, to college entry level, plus fourth semester level, in an open access college setting). The ability to teach one or more engineering courses such as: statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, linear circuits, engineering graphics, etc. is a plus.

  • Minimum qualification is a Master’s Degree in Physics, Physics education or closely related field or a Master’s Degree and 18 graduate hours in Physics. A PhD in Physics, Physics education or close related field is a plus.

Nursing Faculty – Jasper, IN

Vincennes University Jasper is seeking applicants for a full-time nursing faculty position with benefits located on the Jasper Campus. Position will begin August 2019.

 

This position is responsible for:

  • functioning as a team member in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum and course materials, clinical and lab supervision of nursing students, classroom teaching, and student advising responsibilities.

Teaching responsibilities may be in any of the VU nursing programs: Practical Nursing, Associate of Science, or RN to BSN Completion Program.

  • graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing,

  • an earned master’s degree in nursing, or have a BSN degree with MSN in progression, and

  • a current unencumbered Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Indiana.

 Diesel Technology Instructor – Vincennes, IN

Full-time                    

The College of Technology at Vincennes University is seeking applicants for Diesel Technology Instructor. This is a full-time, nine month, non-tenure track position. This position reports to the Diesel Program Coordinator and Dean of Technology.  

This position is responsible for:

  • Play a pivotal role in the expansion of our Diesel Technology program. 

  • Give guidance to the students as they complete their lab assignments demonstrating their skills in routine maintenance, troubleshooting and problem solving mechanical issues of large trucks and engines on a daily basis.

  • Be knowledgeable in brakes, electrical (basic and advanced), engines, HVAC, hydraulics, powertrain, preventive maintenance, steering and suspension systems of over the road diesel trucks, industrial or agriculture equipment.

  • Ability to communicate with students during various stages of the learning process and to reach each student at his/her maximum learning potential. 

  • Organize and present prepared instructional materials at scheduled times and places.

  • Preserve communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction.

  • Uphold records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.

  • Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.

  • Participate in normal program housekeeping activities.

  • Prepare daily instructional plans and instructional materials at the modular level as directed by the program coordinator.  Assist in student recruiting and graduate placement.

  • Evaluate the progress and performance of the student and assign grades.  Enforce the approved departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab; recommend student counseling, probation, or dismissal for excess absences, disruption of class, or lack of progress.

  • Initiate requisitions and work order requests.

  • Suspend unsafe operation.

  • Conduct research on related topics in order to maintain current industry standards.

  • Communicate subject material to students in an understandable and patience format

  • Embrace an active learning environment.

  • Recruit new students and participate in marketing events for the College of Technology

  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Diesel Technology or related area plus a minimum of three years full time industry experience and applicable ASE certifications.

  • Associate's degree in Diesel Technology or related area plus a minimum of five years full time, documented industry experience and applicable ASE certifications or ability to complete.

  • Related course disciplines/experiences within: Diesel Technology, Diesel Management, Diesel Service Technology, Diesel Engineering, Automotive Technology and a minimum of eight years full time, documented experience in the field of Diesel or
