Vincennes University Jasper is seeking applicants for a full-time nursing faculty position with benefits located on the Jasper Campus. Position will begin August 2019.

 

This position is responsible for:

  • functioning as a team member in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum and course materials, clinical and lab supervision of nursing students, classroom teaching, and student advising responsibilities.

Teaching responsibilities may be in any of the VU nursing programs: Practical Nursing, Associate of Science, or RN to BSN Completion Program.

 

The successful candidate has:

 

  • graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing,

  • an earned master’s degree in nursing, or have a BSN degree with MSN in progression, and

  • a current unencumbered Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Indiana.

  • Three years of clinical experience required. Teaching experience and/or experience in critical care, medical-surgical, or psychiatric nursing preferred.

Funeral Service Faculty – Vincennes, IN

Full-Time

 

Vincennes University, a residential community college, is seeking applicants for one full-time funeral service education faculty position with benefits. Successful candidates will be student-centered and self-motivated.

This position is responsible for:

  • Function as a team member in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum and course materials

  • Supervise students in clinical and lab

  • Deliver classroom and online teaching

  • Provide student advising, tutoring, and mentoring for the Funeral Service Education Program

  • Maintain accreditation and legal requirements for the Program in accordance with the American Board of Funeral Service Education and the State Board of Funeral and Cemetery Service

  • Participate in recruitment activities

The successful candidate has:

  • Appropriate Indiana licensure or eligibility for licensure

  • An earned master’s degree from a regionally accredited program

  • Experience in funeral service practice.

Instructor Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technology – Vincennes, IN

Full-Time

 

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technology Faculty position to teach degree required courses and training courses. This is a 9 month, full time position located in Vincennes, IN.

 

This position is responsible for:

The Faculty position will have three main areas of responsibilities. The first area is teaching all courses in the Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technology(AMAT) Program. The second area is visiting high schools/career centers and other events to promote the AMAT Program.

  • Participate in recruiting activities.
  • Prepare materials for courses taught.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Able to work some evenings and occasional Saturdays if needed.
  • Advise and monitor student progress.

The College of Technology at Vincennes University is seeking applications for a Land Resources Department instructor. This is a full-time position. This position reports to the Department Chair of Land Resources and the Dean of Technology.

 

The ideal candidate will be energetic and will have a vision and desire to build strong programs in any of architecture, construction, and surveying at Vincennes University.

This position is responsible for:

 

  • Teaching courses in Architecture, Construction, and/or Surveying Technology.

  • Working collaboratively within the Land Resources Department

  • Assessing student progress and submitting grades as required

  • Program assessment and all related tasks

  • Assisting with contests and other events relating to the department

  • Obtaining instructional supplies for classrooms and labs

  • Maintaining lab equipment

  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate has:

 

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in either Architecture, Construction, Surveying or related field

Diesel Technology Instructor – Vincennes, IN

Full-time                    

The College of Technology at Vincennes University is seeking applicants for Diesel Technology Instructor. This is a full-time, nine month, non-tenure track position. This position reports to the Diesel Program Coordinator and Dean of Technology.  

This position is responsible for:

  • Play a pivotal role in the expansion of our Diesel Technology program. 

  • Give guidance to the students as they complete their lab assignments demonstrating their skills in routine maintenance, troubleshooting and problem solving mechanical issues of large trucks and engines on a daily basis.

  • Be knowledgeable in brakes, electrical (basic and advanced), engines, HVAC, hydraulics, powertrain, preventive maintenance, steering and suspension systems of over the road diesel trucks, industrial or agriculture equipment.

  • Ability to communicate with students during various stages of the learning process and to reach each student at his/her maximum learning potential. 

  • Organize and present prepared instructional materials at scheduled times and places.

  • Preserve communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction.

  • Uphold records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.

  • Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.

  • Participate in normal program housekeeping activities.

  • Prepare daily instructional plans and instructional materials at the modular level as directed by the program coordinator.  Assist in student recruiting and graduate placement.

  • Evaluate the progress and performance of the student and assign grades.  Enforce the approved departmental rules and regulations in the classroom and lab; recommend student counseling, probation, or dismissal for excess absences, disruption of class, or lack of progress.

  • Initiate requisitions and work order requests.

  • Suspend unsafe operation.

  • Conduct research on related topics in order to maintain current industry standards.

  • Communicate subject material to students in an understandable and patience format

  • Embrace an active learning environment.

  • Recruit new students and participate in marketing events for the College of Technology

  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Diesel Technology or related area plus a minimum of three years full time industry experience and applicable ASE certifications.

  • Associate's degree in Diesel Technology or related area plus a minimum of five years full time, documented industry experience and applicable ASE certifications or ability to complete.

  • Related course disciplines/experiences within: Diesel Technology, Diesel Management, Diesel Service Technology, Diesel Engineering, Automotive Technology and a minimum of eight years full time, documented experience in the field of Diesel or
