My experience with the culinary/pastry arts program here at Vincennes University has truly been a dream come true. Ever since I was a kid, it was always a dream and passion of mine to go to school for culinary arts, and the fact that I have not only been able to do this, but have also gotten the chance to form life-long relationships with my classmates, and make memories that will last a lifetime, is an absolute honor. Every week I look forward to my bakeshop class, because I know that no matter what we end up baking that day, I will take away useful skills and tips that I will be able to utilize after graduation, not to mention that every day in the bakeshop is an absolute blast! Students can earn an associate degree in Culinary Arts with a concentration in baking and pastries. The degree prepares students to become bakers and pastry chefs with an emphasis on laboratory experience to help students achieve the technical excellence needed to prepare pastry in large quantities.
