READMISSION REVIEW

If you have been academically disqualified from Vincennes University, you must wait one full semester (summer does not count) before you are eligible to request readmission.

Readmission is not guaranteed and is reviewed on an individual basis.

If extenuating circumstances significantly contributed to your academic performance and you can provide supporting documentation, you may request that the one-semester waiting period be waived by submitting an Appeal Due to Extenuating Circumstances. Documentation is required if applying for an extenuating circumstance appeal.

Important Deadlines

**We recommend beginning the readmission process at least three months before the semester you plan to return to allow sufficient time to complete all required steps.

Steps to Return to Vincennes University

To be considered for readmission, complete the following:

  1. Submit the Readmission Review Request Form.
  2. Complete a new Admissions Application.
  3. Submit a Financial Aid Appeal (if you plan to receive financial aid). This is a separate process from the Readmission Review.

What Happens Next?

After your request is submitted:

  1. The Readmission Review Committee evaluates your request.
  2. The committee reviews all supporting documentation.
  3. You will receive a decision within 30 days of the applicable deadline.
  4. The committee's decision is final.

Factors That Strengthen a Request

The committee reviews each request individually. Helpful supporting information may include:

  • Evidence of college readiness
  • Letter of support from a Vincennes University faculty member or academic advisor
  • Employment lasting six months or longer, accompanied by either:
  • a supervisor recommendation, or
  • a personal statement describing how the experience has prepared you to return to college
  • Honorable military discharge
  • A realistic educational plan
  • Recent academic success, particularly in courses related to your intended major
  • Documentation of extenuating circumstances (Required)
  • No WN or WF grades since disqualification

Important Information

  • Students who are readmitted return on academic probation until their cumulative GPA reaches 2.0.
  • Students who fail to meet academic standards after readmission may be academically disqualified again.
  • Contact the Financial Aid, Housing, and Bursar's offices early if you plan to return, as these processes occur separately from readmission.
  • Outstanding financial balances may prevent registration, even if readmission is approved.
