Early College is a special program that enables students to earn a high school diploma and an associate degree, or up to 2 years (30 credits) of transferable college credit, simultaneously.

Depending on the Early College model implemented at your student’s school, your student may even be able to earn a certificate or an Associate’s Degree before graduation!

Early College students and their supporters have access to extremely dedicated advisors, teachers, and support staff to guide them through each class.

  • College Transcript: All credits earned go on a Vincennes University transcript, giving your student a head -start on college and increasing post-secondary options and employability.
  • Affordability: Early College is designed to reduce costs and Vincennes University has several low-cost and even no-cost partnerships with various schools and districts across the state. Families typically save thousands of dollars by enrolling a student in an Early College program. Beyond high school, our dedicated staff from VU and the high school are always ready to help families find scholarships, grants, and other financial solutions. What is Vincennes University Early College?

Vincennes University is recognized as the statewide leader in Early College partnerships in Indiana. As the first institution in the state to implement the Early College model in high schools, VU’s program is designed for motivated students who want to get a head start on college while they’re still in high school.

Program Overview:

Early College provides structured pathways that allow eligible high school students to earn college credits and in most cases those students complete:

  • An Indiana College Core Certificate of Graduation,
  • An Associate’s Degree, or
  • A Certificate of Graduation,

Students earn a plethora of college credit by enrolling in Vincennes University courses offered at an approved partner high school, career center, or through dedicated online options. All this comes at a significant cost savings compared to traditional postsecondary tuition.

Flexible Delivery Options

This model is completely flexible. In addition to in-person classes offered on partner campuses, VU Early College Online expands access, allowing students in public, private, and homeschool settings to earn transferable credits from anywhere.

Vincennes University’s Dual Credit programs are accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP), the only national accrediting organization focused specifically on concurrent enrollment program quality. NACEP accreditation ensures that college courses taught by high school instructors are as rigorous as the courses offered on the VU campus, providing students with a seamless transition to postsecondary education.
