This is a one day event that will prepare you for the upcoming semester regarding registration, financial aid, student services, and campus life.

Students that are not eligible for registration are required to take the Accuplacer.

Trailblazer Kickoff Registration Eligibility
Students are eligible for class registration if they meet one of the following criteria for English and math: (1) transfer credit with a C or better, (2) qualifying SAT or ACT scores, (3) qualifying high school transcript criteria, or (4) qualifying Accuplacer scores.
Accuplacer can be taken on campus by appointment or virtually using Examity. For more information on testing options, please contact the VU Testing Center at accuplacer@vinu.edu or 812-888-5404.
If you have not demonstrated college readiness through transcripts or SAT/ACT scores, you must complete the Accuplacer placement exam. You have the flexibility to take the test before your Kickoff date (virtually or on-campus by appointment) or you can take it the day of the event.

What is Trailblazer Kickoff?
Trailblazer Kickoff is a mandatory one-day event for new students. It is designed to prepare you for the upcoming semester by allowing you to meet with an academic advisor, register for your classes, and finalize details regarding financial aid and student services.
Who is eligible to attend a Kickoff event?
You are eligible to register for a Kickoff event once you have been admitted to Vincennes University and have met the "college readiness" requirements. This means you must have submitted qualifying SAT/ACT scores, high school transcripts, transfer credits (with a C or better), or completed the Accuplacer placement exam.
Do I need to take the Accuplacer test before I arrive?
If you have not demonstrated college readiness through transcripts or SAT/ACT scores, you must complete the Accuplacer placement exam. You have the flexibility to take the test before your Kickoff date (virtually or on-campus by appointment) or you can take it the day of the event. Can I bring guests with me?
Yes. When you register for your Kickoff date online, you will have the option to indicate how many guests (parents, guardians, or spouses) will be attending with you.
When will I get my Student ID (VU ID)?
Students will receive an email from Student Financial Services with instructions on how to upload a photo via the VUX portal.
- If you upload your photo in advance: There will be a designated table at the Trailblazer Kickoff event where you can simply stop by and pick up your printed ID.
- If you do not upload a photo in advance: You will need to visit one of our customer service windows to have your photo taken and your ID processed.
What should I do if I can't attend any of the scheduled dates?
If you have a conflict with the available Kickoff dates, you should contact the Admissions Office at 812-888-4313 or vuadmit@vinu.edu to discuss alternative registration options.
