What is Vincennes University Dual Credit?

Vincennes University courses taught through VU Dual Credit prepare you for one or more disciplines you need to be successful following your high school graduation. When you enroll for college credit through a Vincennes University Dual Credit program, you are officially considered a VU student and have a permanent, official Vincennes University transcript.

How the Program Works

In Your High School: Dual credit courses are taught during regular school days right at your high school or Career and Technical Education (CTE) site.

  • Certified Instructors: Classes are delivered by qualified, Vincennes University Dual Credit Certified Instructors.

  • True College Rigor: Every dual credit course follows a syllabus provided by main campus faculty, maintains the exact same academic expectations, teaches the same content, and awards the same college credit as courses taught on a VU campus or online.

Dual Credit Pathway Formats

Depending on your school's offerings and your individual goals, you will participate in one of two accredited dual credit frameworks:

  • Project EXCEL: This option lets you take specific, individual VU classes taught by high school teachers in your regular building. It is a highly affordable, low-risk way to build college confidence and try out advanced coursework inside your normal school schedule.

  • Early College: This is a structured, comprehensive program where you enter a designated site network or specialized curriculum layout. It enables you to simultaneously earn your high school diploma alongside a VU Certificate of Graduation or an actual Associate degree (up to 60 credits).
