Bio
Andrea Youngs is an educational leader with extensive experience in special education, school leadership, and educator preparation. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Vincennes University, where she teaches EDUC 498: Transitions and Professional Roles, supporting pre-service educators as they prepare to enter the profession.
In addition to her work in higher education, Andrea served as a middle school principal, where she brought practical, field-based leadership experience into her university teaching. Previously, she spent more than a decade as a special education teacher, working in both self-contained and inclusive settings. Her experience includes curriculum implementation, intervention systems, behavior supports, and collaboration with educators, families, and community partners.
Andrea is particularly passionate about preparing future educators for the realities of the profession, emphasizing reflective practice, ethical leadership, and student-centered decision-making. Her combined experience in K–12 education and higher education allows her to connect theory to practice and provide meaningful learning experiences for aspiring teachers.
