November 27, 2017 / Christmas Gala concert is Dec. 6
VINCENNES, Ind. - A Christmas Gala concert will be presented by the Vincennes University Department of Music on December 6, 7:30 p.m. (EST), at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center Theatre, 20 Red Skelton Boulevard. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Doors will open at 7:00 pm.
The concert will include a wide variety of choral and instrumental literature, including traditional carols, jazz/rock tunes, pop selections, and standard holiday favorites.
The performance will showcase a variety of VU student performing groups, including the Concert Band and the Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Susie Jackson; the Concert Choir and the VU Connection, under the direction of Juliet Gilchrist; the Jazz Ensemble and the Brass Ensemble, under the direction of Wade Baker; the Blues Ensemble and the String Ensemble, under the direction of Dave Parman; and the Woodwind Ensemble, under the direction of Tom Wilson. Professor Michael Howell will also perform.
Pre-concert entertainment will be provided in the lobby by VU piano students.
