VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University is waiving application fees for anyone who applies in 2020.

“We recognize many families have been impacted financially by COVID-19, and waiving the fee will eliminate obstacles. We want to make sure that nothing comes between a student and their dreams and goals,” according to VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson.

According to leading experts at Georgetown University, 70 percent of jobs by 2027 will require education beyond high school.

VU’s mission is to provide an affordable and accessible high-quality education to all. Its tuition and fees are the lowest among Indiana campuses with residence halls. The University is dedicated to creating and supporting a diverse and inclusive community of students from all financial backgrounds.

Continuing with this commitment, the University is waiving the application fee. This should help accelerate the admissions process and enhance the enrollment experience.

"Vincennes University puts students first. We know our students’ names, where they are from, and what their goals are. Our classrooms are small, which makes VU feel very much like a family. COVID-19 has impacted everyone and when our students are hurting, we feel that. VU is always looking for ways to make education accessible and affordable and I believe that waiving that application fee is just one small example of putting students first,” VU Provost and Vice President of Instructional Services/Dean of Faculty Dr. Laura Treanor.

Prospective students can apply for admission online or download a paper application at https://www.vinu.edu/web/admissions/apply.

With more than 180 academic programs, multiple campuses, and a Distance Education program, VU is a great place to find your future and begin your journey.

VU encourages students who apply in 2020 to take advantage of the abundance of scholarships VU offers. VU is committed to removing barriers and providing opportunities.

The Vincennes University Foundation and VU have more than 1,000 scholarships, worth over $2 million available each year. Students have access to almost all of the scholarships VU offers by filling out just one application. Scholarship recipients are from Indiana, all over the United States, and the world.

"The Foundation team works daily with students to lessen financial challenges and support their educational success through scholarships. The generosity of our donors has created a wide variety of scholarship awards ranging from financial need to academic standing, from geographic region to a selected major,” says Kristi Deetz, Executive Director of the VU Foundation. "By simply completing the scholarship section of the online admission application before the end of the year, students meet the deadline for priority consideration and have more opportunities for awards.”
