November 28, 2017 / Register now for Certified Nursing Assistant training program

JASPER, Ind. - Vincennes University will offer two Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program sessions at the VU Jasper campus. The noncredit program includes 30 classroom hours and 75 clinical hours. Students may register now for the evening session that begins January 22 or the daytime session that begins April 2.

The curriculum provided at VU Jasper meets all required guidelines for nursing assistant training set forth by the federal government and the State of Indiana. Upon completion of the course each student is eligible to take the Indiana State CNA competency examination.

For the January session, classroom instruction will take place Monday through Thursday, January 22-25, 5:30-9:30 p.m. (EST), and on Saturday, Jan. 27, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For the April session, classroom instruction will meet for five weeks beginning April 2, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For both sessions, the schedule for clinicals is set during the first week of instruction and begin upon completion of classroom instruction. Clinicals require some weekend hours.

The course fee of $1,195 includes all instruction, textbooks, materials, and state testing fees. Students will be responsible for the cost of the Indiana State Police criminal background check, physical exam, TB testing, and clinical scrubs.
