VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University Provost Jaci Lederman announced the appointment of Mandy Haag as the new Dean of the College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Haag has served as the college’s interim dean since August 2025.
Lederman said, “Dean Haag has provided exceptional leadership and vision during her tenure as interim dean. Her continual dedication to VU made her the clear choice to lead the college permanently into its next chapter. She is uniquely qualified to guide our future, and I invite the entire University Community to join us in celebrating her appointment.”
Haag joined VU in 2005 as a professional tutor and adjunct in the Mathematics Department. She achieved full-time status as an assistant professor in 2012, teaching business mathematics and college algebra courses. She became the Mathematics Department Chair in 2019. She has also served as a dedicated advisor for students pursuing pre-professional medical majors in Pre-Veterinary and Pre-Veterinary Technology within the College of SEM. Additionally, she has advised walk-in students at the Student Success Center in the summers.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Mathematics and Middle School from the University of Southern Indiana, and a Master of Arts in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University.
Haag’s appointment fills a position left vacant when Curt Coffman accepted a position with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, and concludes an extensive search that drew an impressive pool of candidates.
Haag said, "I am humbled to be chosen to lead a college that has provided me so much over the past two decades. I accept this role with deep gratitude. I am truly excited to continue working alongside the SEM faculty, stakeholders, and alumni to support our students and propel the College of SEM forward."
