VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University students are uniting their talents and purpose as the holiday season approaches, pouring art, culinary skills, and service into the 2025 Empty Bowls event on Friday, Nov. 21.

Sponsored by the VU Ceramics Club and the Culinary Arts program, the annual event rallies students and faculty around a shared mission: tackling food insecurity at a time when many local families need it most. All proceeds from Empty Bowls will go directly to support the Helping Hands Food Pantry in time for Thanksgiving.

The University Community and members of the public visiting the Center for Art and Design from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (ET) will be greeted by a wonderful display of around 100 handmade bowls created by VU students and faculty. With a $15 purchase, guests can fill their bowl with delicious soup prepared in three varieties, including a vegetarian option, prepared by Culinary Arts students.

Every bowl purchased is a direct contribution to the well-being of local families. The University Community and Public are encouraged to join this meaningful tradition and support the students leading this effort.
