Welcome to the Cadet Corps!

Welcome to the Cadet Corps at Vincennes University! Our organization is dedicated to serving and protecting the VU community in active partnership with the Vincennes University Police Department (VUPD). We exist to promote campus safety, develop student leadership, and provide aspiring public safety professionals with real-world operational experience in law enforcement and security services.

What We Do & Our Purpose

The Cadet Corps plays a vital role in maintaining a secure, welcoming environment across Vincennes University while providing student members with direct, practical training.

  • Campus Security & Safety Patrols: Conduct routine security patrols across university grounds, residence halls, and facilities to assist in maintaining campus safety and deterring unwanted activity.
    •
  • VUPD Event Escort & Traffic Management: Assist the Vincennes University Police Department with crowd management, parking supervision, and security escorts during major campus events, athletic games, and ceremonies.
    •
  • Safety Escort Services: Provide safe walk escorts for VU students, faculty, staff, and visitors walking across campus during evening and late-night hours.
    •
  • Emergency Response & Tactical Drills: Participate in specialized training workshops, radio communications practice, and joint emergency response exercises alongside VUPD officers.
    •

Why Join the Cadet Corps?

Membership in the Cadet Corps offers valuable professional preparation, hands-on field experience, and leadership opportunities:
