Welcome to the Ceramics Club!

Welcome to the Ceramics Club at Vincennes University! Our organization provides a hands-on, educational, and creative studio space where students, faculty, and staff can explore the tactile art of clay. We exist to foster an artistic campus community where members can unwind, express their creativity, and learn every step of the ceramic process from raw clay to finished art pieces.

What We Do & Our Purpose

The Ceramics Club brings the VU community together to explore three-dimensional art and studio techniques through hands-on creation and collaboration.

  • Clay Hand-Building & Wheel Throwing: Learn essential studio techniques, including coil and slab construction, pinch pots, and wheel throwing to create unique functional pottery and sculptural pieces.

  • Kiln Firing & Glazing Workshops: Gain direct experience in surface decoration, glazing methods, and understanding the firing process of ceramic kilns.

  • Campus Art Sales & Exhibitions: Host seasonal pottery sales and showcase original student artwork in campus exhibitions, giving members practical experience in marketing and presenting their art.

  • Community Art Projects & Open Studio: Organize collaborative group projects, open studio hours, and creative workshops that engage the broader Vincennes University campus in the ceramic arts.

Who Can Join?

The Ceramics Club is open to all Vincennes University students, faculty, and staff, regardless of major, class standing, or experience level. Whether you are an Art major refining your portfolio or a complete beginner who has never touched clay before, no prior studio experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands messy!
