Welcome to the Communication Club!

Welcome to the Communication Club at Vincennes University! Our club is dedicated to helping students develop powerful verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills while building meaningful connections across campus. We exist to foster a supportive, creative environment where Trailblazers of all backgrounds can boost their public speaking confidence, master interpersonal dynamics, and explore the art of storytelling.

What We Do & Our Purpose

The VU Communication Club brings students together through dynamic campus projects, skill-building workshops, and social engagement.

• Public Speaking & Presentation Workshops: Practice expressing ideas clearly and persuasively through low-stakes public speaking activities, group debates, and constructive feedback sessions.
 
• Campus Event Hosting & Production: Collaborate on organizing and hosting signature campus events—such as "Taste and Threads"—giving members direct experience in event management and public relations.
 
• Professional & Interpersonal Communication: Learn effective networking strategies, active listening techniques, and professional etiquette required for internships and career success.
 
• Media & Digital Storytelling Projects: Explore creative message creation across various media platforms, from digital content creation to broadcast and written communications.

The Communication Club is advised by Ann Hefner, Associate Professor of Communication at Vincennes University. Bringing over a decade of higher education teaching experience, Professor Hefner is deeply passionate about empowering students to find their voice and fosters a collaborative, creative space for club members to thrive.
