Vincennes University's Technology programs develop passionate individuals into industry-ready professionals, and I am grateful to have experienced that pipeline. Whether you are looking for a career in business intelligence, network operation and security, or software development, VU provides a strong foundation to starting your career path. One of my favorite aspects of the programs were the learning labs that demonstrated real world systems and scenarios. The cybersecurity courses didn’t just explain attacks -- they walked us through performing real techniques like SQL injections and man‑in‑the‑middle attacks, then demonstrated exactly how experts defend against them. Networking courses utilized Cisco’s Packet Tracer, a tool that allows students to visually build a network topology all the way from an organization’s edge device down to an end user computer. With access to fully operating virtual interfaces, we were able to design real-world solutions involving subnetting, VLANs, QoS, port aggregation, and other technologies just like a network engineer would with a real network stack. VU provided the fundamental skills and the confidence I needed to enter my IT career path feeling prepared and capable. I’m proud to be an alum, and credit much of my early success to the foundation that VU’s Technology program created.
