Joseph Woodman Kimmell Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA and maintain a 2.5 GPA or above at all times during the scholarship period

  • Minimum 12 credit hours per semester

  • Must be a first-time student with no more than 18 months between high school and attendance

  • Can be enrolled in any major

  • Recipient shall be baccalaureate-seeking student

  • Preference will be given to recipients from the geographic areas of southwest and south-central Indiana as well as southeast Illinois

  • Recipients shall be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more) unless the number of credit hours required to finish their associate, or baccalaureate is less than full-time status

  • SAT and ACT examination scores may also be considered in the selection process

Renewability Requirements

  • Must submit a request letter and documentation of college cumulative GPA and financial aid package by July 1 each year to renew scholarship

How to Apply

  • Complete the VU Admissions Application by January 15th each year for Priority Deadline. After this date, scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis.
  • Apply for or update your FAFSA
  • Recipients will be notified via email
