Justin S. Mowery Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility requirements

  • Minimum 2.0 GPA

  • Minimum 6 credit hours per semester

  • Must be a first or second year student, traditional or non-traditional

  • Must be enrolled as a coal mining major

  • Additionally, an award to the Aviation Flight program may be made annually at the discretion of the committee

  • Preference will be give to scholarship applications from Greene County. If there are no qualified applicants from Greene County, then the committee at their discretion may consider applicants from the counties adjacent to Greene County.

Award

  • The scholarship may be revoked if the recipient does not attend scheduled classes for whatever reason

How to Apply

  • Complete the VU Admissions Application by January 15th each year for Priority Deadline. After this date, scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis.
  • Apply for or update your FAFSA
  • Recipients will be notified via email
