VINCENNES, Ind. - The Vincennes University Foundation has awarded Z. Olen & Inez G. Pumphrey Foundation Scholarships to two Gibson County Center students, Ivy L. Heldt and Brooks A. Martin. Each were awarded a $2,000 scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year.
The Z. Olen & Inez G. Pumphrey Foundation Scholarship is available to any full- or part-time Gibson County Center student, either traditional or non-traditional. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA during the award period.
Ivy L. Heldt, Fort Branch, is the daughter of Lonny and Donna Heldt and is majoring in Graphic Design. She is a 2015 graduate of the Christian Educators Home Association and a three-time member of the Gibson County team that won the Indiana Envirothon.
Brooks A. Martin, Owensville, is the son of Kent and Mikala Martin and is a Collision Repair and Refinishing major. He is a 2014 graduate of Gibson Southern High School.
In advancing the University’s missions of higher education and community service, the VU Foundation - through the generosity of its donors - administers endorsements and contributions established by corporate and individual gifts as designated. During the 2016-17 school year, the Foundation will have available an excess of $1.4 million dollars to award in scholarships.
