VU Mid-Year Commencement is Dec. 10

December 7, 2016 - VU Mid-Year Commencement is Dec. 10

VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University‚Äôs Mid-Year Commencement exercises will be Dec. 10, 11 a.m. (EST), at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.  Dr. Laurel Smith, interim provost and vice president of Instructional Services, will preside and Elaine Burklow, president of the Faculty Senate, will convene the ceremony.

VU President Chuck Johnson will address the graduates. Presenting the degrees will be Deans Anna Miller, College of Business and Public Service; Joan Puckett, College of Humanities; Dean Ackerman, College of Technology; Paul Wilder, College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics; and Robert Evans, Social Science, Performing Arts, and Communication.

Dr.Richard Walker, Jr., associate dean of students, will provide the welcome and Jennifer Gilmore, director of Alumni, will induct the graduates into the Alumni Association.  Presenting Academic Honors will be Jana Vieck, dean of the College of Health Sciences and Human Performance.

Anecia Coleman, president of the Student Government Association, will present the opening and closing statements and Miss VU 2017 Ashley Green will lead the singing of the National Anthem and the VU Alma Mater.  The VU Campus Police Cadet Honor Guard will present and retire the Colors.

Commencement student marshals will be Tanisha Collins and Esme Rosas-Tovar.
