One of my favorite experiences during my time at Vincennes University was not only getting to design a landscape, but also getting to install the design at a site, learning so many different skills and techniques which I continue to use today.

My time earning my degree in Agribusiness and Horticulture was nothing short of inspiring. After high school, I was very hesitant about continuing my education, but once I visited the VU campus and the Ag Center, my mind was made up. At the time, I did not fully realize the impact this experience would have on me. I was given the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and put my knowledge and skills to the test at NACTA in Canyon, Texas. The time I spent alongside my classmates and professors truly represents what VU Agribusiness is all about. It honestly feels like one big family; focused on the future of agriculture and horticulture, applying what we’ve learned, and growing together both professionally and personally.

There are many reasons why I loved the agribusiness program at Vincennes University. Of many things, I really appreciated that the two Ag teachers that I had were very understanding and always helpful. I felt comfortable asking them for help or advice, whether it was school related or not. I could also tell they put a lot of hard work into our classes and tried to make them as interactive as possible to keep us students engaged. Most importantly, I actually use the skills I learned in the ag classes in my day to day life. For example, learning how to grow my own food on a budget or how to make a homemade greenhouse to grow produce over the winter. Overall, I am very thankful I chose to go the Agribusiness and horticulture route at VU!

As a current student in the agribusiness program at Vincennes University, I have had an extremely valuable experience. The program has connected me with many agricultural professionals in the local area, as well as state and county legislators, giving me real-world exposure beyond the classroom. It also helps connect students with employers in the industry, providing strong opportunities for internships and jobs after graduation. Jennifer and Melanie tailor the classes and course materials to each student’s needs, which helps everyone benefit and retain the information more effectively. The curriculum is packed with useful information and research that can be applied directly to the agricultural industry. This program has helped me grow...

As a current student in the Agribusiness program at Vincennes University, I have gained a well-rounded understanding of how business decisions directly impact animal husbandry, horticulture, and agronomic systems. The program has helped me develop skills in financial analysis, management, and communication while still staying grounded in production-based agriculture. What stands out most is how coursework connects economic and business principles to real challenges faced by producers across multiple sectors of agriculture. This balance has strengthened my confidence and prepared me for a career that bridges both the business and production sides of the agricultural industry.
