Baseball ~ Watch for registration information
Young athletes have an opportunity to practice fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting, infield and outfield play with instruction from Coach Chris Barney, his staff, and current team members. Coach Barney has 30 years of coaching experience. During the last nine years at VU, 80+ players have moved on to four-year schools to continue their academic and athletic careers. Young athletes will learn first-hand the tremendous knowledge of the game and share the enthusiasm Coach Barney has for baseball.
Each camp is especially designed to help young athletes build their skills. Camp staff will group campers by ages and abilities. Camp fee includes group and individual instruction of baseball fundamentals, drills, team play, games – and a VU Baseball t-shirt. Breaks will be taken as needed. Cups and coolers of water will be provided. All camps (unless otherwise noted) will take place at Jerry Blemker Field, home of the VU Trailblazers, located at 1562 Old Terre Haute Road (across from Girls Softball League fields). Campers will be released from the same location.
All camps are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend after registration please contact one of the coaches and a credit will be applied towards a future camp.
Conversation Law Enforcement Citizens Academy ~ May 2019 ~ Dates coming soon *********

Beekeeping Camp ~ Ages 12 - Adult ~ Watch for dates
Help save the environment. This is a very popular three day workshop and is for the beginning beekeeper plus. Learn about the make up of colonies, tools and materials needed to get started and many helpful tips, including cost saving tips. You will learn where and when to get your bees, how to do a simple hive inspection and problems beekeepers face, as well as a year long calendar for a beekeeper and harvesting honey for sale or personal use.
Welding Workshop for Educators
Vincennes University will host two 3-day welding workshops for Educators in June of 2019. Both workshops will be taught by Lincoln Electric trainers from corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, and assisted by the welding faculty of Vincennes University.
Lions Law Camp - June 12-15
Sponsored by the Indiana State Police and situated on the Vincennes University campus. This four-day co-ed camp offers 7th and 8th graders a more advanced look at law enforcement through field trips, exciting demonstrations and motivating programs. Campers meet peers from around the state, participate in recreational activities, and leave with a greater understanding of the police field. Co-sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Indiana. Kiwanis Career Law Camp - June 23-28
Sponsored by the Indiana State Police. This camp is geared towards youth in grades 9-12. Similar to the Indiana State Police Academy, Career Camps give students an in-depth look at law enforcement. Campers conduct their own crime scene investigations, hear from defense attorneys, judges, and other experts in the criminal justice field, and watch exciting police demonstrations during the week-long camps. Campers get to make friends from around the state, participate in recreational activities and experience what the police academy is like right on the VU campus. Students also get an opportunity to see our state of the art crime lab and facilities. Co-sponsored by Kiwanis International. Scholarships are available. Watch for registration information.
PSI IOTA XI ArtVentures Camp - July 8-12
Explore and develop your artistic talents! ARTventures Camp runs for one week and meets daily from from 9 am to noon in the Shircliff Building on the Vincennes University Campus. The Camp session is open for 1st through 6th graders in the 2019-2020 school year. Campers will have a choice of 3 classes chosen from several classes presented by artisan-educators of the area in both visual and performing arts sharing their love of their art with budding artists.
Camp is sponsored by Psi Iota Xi, service sorority, so that area children can discover their artistic talents. Older students and adults who would like to volunteer during camp may do so. Middle School and High School cheer teams are invited to attend this high impact 4 day camp. Offering personalized instruction to build inner strength, dedication and drive to make your team shine. Camp curriculum includes cheers and chants, safety and technique training, band dances, team skills, leadership and more. All lead by AACCA-certified instructors. Come learn under the direction of Head Coach Gary Sien and the highly successful Women's Volleyball team. Individual camp fees include t-shirt and lunch. All camps are held in the Donald Bell Recreation Center. Parking in lots along the Red Skelton Blvd.
Athletes entering freshman year through senior year in high school and wish to cultivate your volleyball skills will have an opportunity to participate in the upcoming Volleyball All-Skills Camps under the direction for Trailblazer Volleyball coach, Gary Sien. Coach Sien has been with Vincennes University since 2016, and has 18 seasons in NJCAA volleyball as head coach with almost 600 career wins. Prior to that Coach Sien was in the NAIA and the NCCAA.
Each camp is a full day experience. Camp dates are July 25 and 26, 2018. Volleyball Camp is designed to help young athletes build their skills. Camp fee includes group and individual instruction of all volleyball aspects. Lunch is provided in the Tecumseh Dining Center. Camp will take place at the Donald Bell Recreation Center located at 1600 Short Street. Parking is in the lots along Red Skelton Blvd. Campers will be released from the same location. Asst. Coach Brian Davis - In his twelve years at Vincennes University the Blazers have averaged over 27 wins per season, been ranked #1 in the country, advanced to the NJCAA national tournament six times with two Final 4 trips, tied the school record home court winning streak of 52 games, and sent many players on to the Division 1 level. Coach Davis has recruited and coached 10 All-American players that have went on to play in the Big Ten, Big 12, Pac 12, & SEC among many other major D1 conferences. Coach Davis has been involved in a number of prestigious basketball camps throughout the country, including camps at Indiana University, University of Kentucky, and the Ron Felling Shooting Camps.

Coach Harry Meeks has over 27 years experience and more than 500 victories. He is the most successful coach in VU Women's Trailblazer history. Coach Meeks list of accomplishments include many trips to the "big dance including a fifth place finish in the NJCAA Div. I National Championship Tournament Several NJCAA All-Americans which includes his guidance of All-American forward and 2011 State Farm/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Junior College Player of the Year Jasmine McGhee, as well as 2014 All-American Anya Kalenta. Both players were honored following their Trailblazer careers by the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame for their outstanding play. Coach Meeks and his team are consistently among the top-20 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) programs in the county.
