What can I expect during my time at VU?

  • The program provides essential courses that prepare students to begin their careers as a professional graphic designer, including four levels of graphic design courses that include actual client work experiences in the advanced levels. These courses are run much like an actual design studio to build a professional level portfolio Additionally, experiences with typography, illustration, design for the web and social media are included.
  • Training in industry standard Adobe applications, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, are included in the curriculum.
  • Modern facilities, including three computer labs, wide format printing, laser cutting, and 3D printing, are utilized to build professional level student printed and digital portfolios.

What can I do with this degree?

Graduates of this program are prepared for the following employment opportunities: graphic designer positions in design studios, advertising agencies; In-house designer positions at a variety of institutions and business, such as universities, hospitals, manufactures and services providers; self-employed freelance graphic designers.
