Continuous Commitment

Continuous Commitment

We are grateful for your ongoing partnership with Vincennes University through Project EXCEL and Early College. Your continued commitment demonstrates a shared belief that dual credit is more than an opportunity, it is a responsibility to provide students with authentic, college-level experiences while they are still in high school.

Because of your leadership, collaboration, and dedication, students in your classrooms are not only earning credit, they are building confidence, accountability, and momentum toward their futures. Dual credit requires intentional planning, communication, and consistency. Your sustained partnership ensures that this work remains strong and impactful year after year.

As a valued partner, your school continues to:

  • Ensure courses meet college-level standards and are taught by qualified, credentialed instructors.
  • Provide time and support for instructor credentialing, annual professional development, and ongoing collaboration with VU faculty and staff.
  • Promote student readiness, responsibility, and academic accountability.
  • Help students and their primary supporters understand that dual credit grades become part of an official Vincennes University transcript.
  • Help students understand the importance of regularly checking for emails and logging into VU-x.
  • Maintain open communication with your assigned Project EXCEL or Early College team to ensure smooth scheduling, enrollment, and program quality.

Your consistency in these areas strengthens the integrity of the program and directly impacts student outcomes.

In return, Vincennes University remains committed to you by providing:

  • Ongoing instructor mentoring and credentialing support.
  • Curriculum alignment and academic oversight to preserve college-level rigor.
  • Professional development opportunities and timely communication.
  • A dedicated partnership team focused on serving your students, instructors, and administrators.

Together, we meet students where they are and help raise them to where they need to be. Through this shared responsibility outlined in each School or CTE Center Dual Credit MOU, we continue to create meaningful pathways that begin in your classrooms and extend into college, career, and beyond.

Thank you for your continued trust, collaboration, and commitment to expanding opportunity for the students you serve.

Remember that students are asked to make a commitment when joining dual credit. This commitment is a personal promise that we ask them to make themselves. We further ask that the students primary support and our dual credit partners to make sure that students know why keeping that commitment is important.

A Students Commitment to Vincennes University Dual Credit

As a Vincennes University Dual Credit Student, I commit to a code of civilized behavior. I will practice personal academic integrity;

I will respect the dignity of all persons, including myself; I will respect the rights of others; I will not condone bigotry; I will strive for the openness to learn from differences in people, ideas and opinions;

I will demonstrate concern for others, their feelings, and their need for conditions which support their work and development.

Allegiance to these ideals requires me to refrain from behavior that threatens the freedom and respect every individual deserves.

I further commit the following:

To embody and practice the university’s motto: “Learn in Order to Serve.”

I will seek to learn not only for my own growth, but so that I may also make a positive impact in my community and in my future career.

I understand the commitment and acknowledge that the success in dual credit courses require the same time, effort, and commitment as a college student taking the same course at any campus location. I will complete the same assignments and meet the same academic expectations and rigor as any of my Vincennes University peers.

I further understand that the credits and grades that I earn through Vincennes University will become a permanent part of my college transcript. I’m committed to seeing that I get good grades.

I will always appreciate the value of this opportunity that Vincennes University and the State of Indiana has given me.

And I acknowledge and understand that the cost savings and head start that I gain today can ultimately grow into even great rewards and cost savings should I choose to continue to pursue a Certificate, Associates, or Bachelor’s Degree through Vincennes University.
