Vincennes University will host a series of remembrance events to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on Friday, Sept. 11.

Vincennes University is establishing a game-changing approach to educator training through the launch of its Online Teacher Preparation Initiative. Designed to support K-12 partner schools facing critical shortages, this initiative provides a flexible online, high-quality bachelor's degree program designed to streamline the certification process and place future educators in the classrooms that need them most.

STEM education, artificial intelligence, Science of Reading practices, blended learning, and inclusive instructional strategies are among the many captivating sessions that will be featured at the 2026 Vincennes University Innovative Teaching Summit for educators on Friday, Nov. 6.

Vincennes University’s deep-rooted commitment to educational innovation and community services was at the center of the VU Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Jasper Campus. Highlights included the official naming of a soon-to-be-constructed greenhouse at the University’s Agricultural Center, which will set a strong foundation for elevating hands-on learning opportunities for studying plant sciences, sustainability practices, environmental awareness and career exploration.

Ask someone where they would expect to find a beautiful European-style theatre, live theatrical productions, concerts, student performances, and nationally recognized talent, and many would point to Indianapolis, Louisville, or St. Louis. Few realize one of the region's cultural gems has been in Vincennes all along. The Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at Vincennes University isn't just a venue for students—it's a community treasure that welcomes audiences of all ages throughout the year.
